You will soon have "independence" from your palate expander..joke for the day..

Happy 4th of July!

Hi Palate Expander Friends,
Happy 4th of July, Happy Summer, Happy Winter...I am saying this because we have people from so many different parts of the world reading this and I am so glad to once again say how happy I am to be helping everyone and giving everyone a nice place to write about what they are going through.
Today my Mom and I checked to see which countries are reading this blog this week and they are....USA, Canada, Qatar, South Korea, Ireland, Sweden, Australia, and Egypt. It is amazing to see how one little piece of metal can bring so many people together.
Remember to scroll down and read all the posts from the beginning so you can check out the palate expander adventure I had.
Enjoy the day and thank you for reading! Good luck to all of you!

  1. Colin: My son, Justin, who is 8, is getting a RPE tomorrow. After much googling, I have to wonder, what am I doing to my poor little boy. I just read your entire blog. Thanks for the info that might just get us through this process!

  4. Hi Colin,
My name is Maezy. I just got my palette expander today, and it hurt!! My teeth are also bothering me too. When I got home I tried to eat dinner. My mom made mac and cheese, I could only eat two pieces of mac and cheese. It got stuck in my palette expander. I started to cry and cry. Everytime I ate something it got stuck in my palette expander. My mom led me to the bathroom, and gave me a wet cloth. Then she led me to my bedroom to calm me down. When I got back to the dinner table my cat Edwin was drinking my milk!! That made me so angry that I started to cry all over again! :( Then my mom said I could have yogurt, after that it was time to do my reading. My mom found your blog on the internet, and I started to read it. It made me feel a little better because now I know how it feels. One thing for sure, I cant' wait to get my palette expander off! Your 8 year old friend, Maezy

  6. Colin, thank you so much! I've read your whole blog. My grandson is getting a palate expander put on tomorrow afternoon. I was pretty upset about it all, but feel much better after reading about your experiences.

I hope my grandson will read your blog too. His name is Samuel and he is 7 years old.
